Michael Currier To Head Up International Builders’ Show Exposition Sales

August 11, 2009 – The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has appointed Michael Currier the new head of exposition sales, where he will supervise exhibit and sponsorship sales for NAHB’s annual convention and exposition, the International Builders’ Show (IBS). He takes over the role from Ignacio Cabrera, who retired in August.

Currier has more than 20 years of experience connecting suppliers and buyers of residential products in the advertising and trade show industries.  He has been part of NAHB’s IBS exhibit and sponsorship sales team for 16 years, serving as the primary contact for some of NAHB’s largest customers including Whirlpool, Andersen Windows, Dow Chemical and General Electric. Before coming to NAHB, he managed housing industry accounts for Hanley-Wood, LLC.

“Michael brings to the position a strong understanding of the residential construction supply chain and hundreds of direct relationships with housing’s most important suppliers,” said Phil Jobe, NAHB Convention Committee Chair for the 2010 IBS. “Our customers, NAHB and the IBS will be well served.”

Cabrera, who led NAHB’s exposition sales team for more than 35 years, helped build IBS into the largest light construction trade show in the world. The 2010 IBS will be held January 19-22 in Las Vegas.
